This area is part of the “Circuito Turistico de Lambayeque” and also of the “Corredor Turistico Noramazonico”, including on this important archeological areas. This is the first Ecological Private Area on the country. 70 kms from Chilcayo with 34,412 has and with altitude from 350 msnm to 1,350 this area is own by the Rural Community of Santa Catalina de Chongoyape. On this area we can found more than 193 bird species: 36 endemic and 5 threatened, besides 15 mammals, 21 specials of reptiles and 4 species of amphibians.
The Rural Community of Santa Catalina de Chongoyape y theirs people are a important support of this cause, as well as international organizations, the public and private area with a great commitment they have introduced a system of sustainable development supported by the ecotourism.
