Tumbes National Mangrove Sanctuary

It is a tropical ecosystem marine unique in Perú, formed for a system of canals and islands, and it is originated by the tropical sea, thanks to the fresh water's mixture loaded of sediments of the river with the salt water of the sea, that are populated meanly de mangles negros, that keeps a great quantity of fauna, specially, mollusks and birds.

Tumbes Protected Area

Straight margin of the Río Tumbes, in the provinces of Tumbes and Zarumilla, to the frontier with Ecuador and has and extension of 75,102's. Its climate belongs to transitory among the desert- of La Costa Peruana and The Tropical Subhúmedo of Ecuador, largely predominating Bosques Tropicales's forestal species, Semitropicales and Bosques Secos. Its height hesitates among the 500 and 900. msnm.

Cerros de Amotape National Park
The Parque is located among Piura's departments and Tumbes, to a minimal height of 200 msnm and maxim of 1,613 msnm, it presents a diversity of flora and fauna distributed in 4 zones of life, according to the map elaborated by the ONERN:

Sea Wildlife Watching

The most common habitants of this zone Las Tijeretas or Aves Fragata, El Piquero de Patas Azules o Camanay, tropical Birds and several sorts of marine turtles and even a sea snake. The fishes are plentiful and very varied, from the dolphins, whales, sharks and mantarayas, to the congers, corvinas, groupers, tuna fishes and merlines. Also a great sort of mollusks, crustaceous and cephalopods as shells, barnacles, clams, crabs, lobsters, prawns, octopuses and squids...

Altomayo and Cordillera de Colán

These areas are inside of the “Corredor Turístico Noramazónico”, 600 kms from Chiclayo by the Fernando Belaunde Terry road. This area is well know as one of the most big and rich biological areas around the world, with a great variety of eco-regions that form inside others ecosystem and habitats,. Like the coastal waters, desert, dry forests, mist forests, paramo, subtropical forests and tropical forests.

Chaparrí Ecological Area

This area is part of the “Circuito Turistico de Lambayeque” and also of the “Corredor Turistico Noramazonico”, including on this important archeological areas. This is the first Ecological Private Area on the country. 70 kms from Chilcayo with 34,412 has and with altitude from 350 msnm to 1,350 this area is own by the Rural Community of Santa Catalina de Chongoyape.
