Tumbes National Mangrove Sanctuary

It is a tropical ecosystem marine unique in Perú, formed for a system of canals and islands, and it is originated by the tropical sea, thanks to the fresh water's mixture loaded of sediments of the river with the salt water of the sea, that are populated meanly de mangles negros, that keeps a great quantity of fauna, specially, mollusks and birds.

It is located in the north -western Coast of Peru, the Tumbes’ mangroves constitute the austral limit for much of the sorts of flora and wildlife associated to this particular ecosystem.

In the Santuario stand out the fauna of invertebrates, compose by an enormous mollusks's variety, among them the very well famous conchas negras, 34 species of crustaceous, 33 of snails and over a hundred of fishes species.

The Santuario is in like manner a place key in the marine- species reproduction of importance commercial, as the prawn.  It is one of the most beautiful echo system singularly in the world, that lodges among its exuberant fauna to migratory and resident birds, in addition to species in danger of extinction as El Cocodrilo de Tumbes and the Mapache or Osito Manglero.

 

Its climate is sunny almost all year, with an annual average (25°C).  of temperature of In summer it gets around 30°C of temperature. Sporadic rains among December and March,  that stress with El Fenómeno de El Niño.
