Those who know Restaurant César ensure that they have the best ceviche around Máncora. However this time we were invited to try their fresh lobster … what a pleasant surprise !. Previous iced beer, between the 4 sauces available, we choose “a la meniere” for our lobster. Before preparing, Miluska of Cesar Restaurant showed us the lobster chosen. Two things immediately surprised us: The large size of the lobster (600 grams) and freshness … it was still alive!. Miluska tells us that the minimum size is 600 grams here at Restaurant Cesar and the dish price is from 100 soles (USD $ 33.00, price approx. and referential). She tells us that every day come fishermen to visit early with fresh lobster. And the taste ?, amazing!. A lot of lobster meat, perfectly cooked with classical “patacones” (fried plantains). Mancora beach, located in the province of Talara, Piura region, was the winner of one of the World Travel Awards (WTA) this 2016. Mancora and beaches like Pocitas, won in the category of “best beach destination in South America.” “It is an honor to receive such high distinction that adorns an entire people, where every day, with the rest of authorities, business and citizens in general, great efforts are made to boost the tourism industry and keep our district as one of the best tourist destinations in the world”, said the current mayor of Mancora, Florencio Olibos, who received the prize in Lima. The public chose as the best South American Mancora Resort with their votes via web, from 7 March to 6 May 2016. This week we had the pleasure of doing one of the unfrequented routes on Tumbes province. Final destination: Pilar of Peña Blanca, forming natural pools ideal for swimming, very similar to the Pilares of Quebrada Fernandez. We entered to Quebrada Seca (between Máncora and Punta Sal) on a 4×4. After 2 hours we arrived to the village of La Choza, in the district of Casitas. Once there, a delightful walk of no more than 2 hours and we arrive at this magical place full of nature.
